Things to Do in Paris 19th Arrondissement
Paris Vacation Ideas - The 19th district includes great public parks and Paris attractions, including the Parc de la Villette, home to both the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, a museum and exhibition centre and the Conservatoire de Paris, one of the most renowned music schools in Europe and part of the Cité de la Musiquethe.

The 3rd International Salon for Peace Initiatives from 30 May to 1 June 2008 was hosted here at Parc de la Villette.
Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie (City of Science and Industry), the biggest science museum in Europe, draws over 5 million visitors a year who come to explore the world of science, technology and future possibilities.

The Cité, one of the largest of Paris attractions, has a planetarium, a submarine (the Argonaute (S636)), an IMAX theatre (La Géode) and special departments for children and teenagers.
The most notable features of the "bioclimatic facade" facing the park are Les Serrres - three greenhouse spaces each 20 metres high and 8 metres wide and 20 metres deep.
The facades of Les Serres were the first structural glass walls to be constructed without framing or supporting fins.
The 19th arrondissement of Paris is crossed by two canals, the Canal Saint-Denis and the Canal de l'Ourcq, which meet near the Parc de la Villette.
The Canal de l'Ourcq was built in the 19th century by Napoléon to provide Parisians with drinking water for the city, and on sunny days, tourists can cruises or kayak along the canal.

Another wonderful park is Parc des Buttes Chaumont, located on a hill in the north end of the city.
Buttes-Chaumont is a popular city escape for nature lovers who want to spend hours wandering around this lush green paradise. This is the largest, hilliest and least touristy park in Paris.
The most prominent feature is the Belvedere of Sybil, which sits atop a 30 meter rocky peak at the top of an island partially surrounded by a lake.
The belvedere, added to the park in 1869, is a Corinthian-style monument, modeled after the ancient Roman temple of Sybil in Tivoli, Italy.
A 63 meter long suspension bridge, renovated in 2009, crosses the lake and allows access to the island. A 22 meter high bridge, known as the "suicide bridge", allows access to the belvedere from the south side of the park.
At Buttes-Chaumont you still find a real Parisian atmosphere, far from the meddling international crowds of the city's centre. Climb to the top of the hill and overlook the north of Paris with the Montmartre hill right in front of you.
This park is truly an oasis for lovers of nature pictures Paris photos.
The park
has an enchanted feeling, with its waterfall, from a natural spring
deep underground stream, lake and it's steep cliff, topped with a
'temple' which can only be reached via a suspension bridge.
