Places to Visit in Paris - As with the rest of Paris attractions, there's a bit of everything in the 6th arrondissement including some of the finest Paris restaurants in the world.

Other great eateries which students frequent can be found on the stretch of rue Vavin between rue Notre Dame and rue d'Assas (just before Jardin du Luxembourg).

One of the famous attractions to visit on your Paris trips is the luxurious Hotel Lutetia, also in the 6th arrondissement.

Two of the most famous Paris restaurants and cafés, Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots are located side by side.

Both are more expensive than your average café, but the experience of relaxing and people-watching where the famous poets and writers socialized, such as Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre, and young writers, such as Ernest Hemingway, and other fascinating people including Pablo Picasso, it's more than worth it to treat yourself here.

The Café Procope is another great spot to visit.

It is one of the oldest restaurants and one ot the famous attractions you will want to see on your Paris travel, opened in 1686 by the Sicilian Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli.

From the inexpensive kebab joints around Place St. Michel, to the busy sidewalks of Paris' main art Gallery scene, to the expansive green spaces and under-tree cafés of the Jardin du Luxembourg at Palais du Luxembourg, the 6th has it all.

Palais du Luxembourg, located in the Jardin du Luxembourg (the Luxembourg Garden), houses the French Senate and one of the loviest of attractions to see on your Paris trips.

This is a wonderful place to go for a stroll in the gardens, or be still and read a book.

The Palais du Luxembourg was a richly decorated palace built for Marie de Medici in the early 17th century.

The Medici Fountain in Jardin du Luxembourg is yet another romantic spot to relax, read or meditate.

Located on the Left Bank of the Seine River, the 6th arrondissement is one of the central districts of the capital and includes the notable district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

It is dominated by its Abbey, Eglise Saint-Germain-des-Prés dating from the 11th century, the period in which it became the center of a powerful Benedictine abbey.

The Abbey is on the opposite corner of Les Deux Magots and the Café de Flore, exciting Paris attractions, and only a few steps away.

The Eglise Saint-Germain-des-Prés has a fascinating mix of styles; 6th century marble columns placed alongside Gothic vaults and supported by Romanesque arches.

The Bridges of Paris are Eye Candy

Paris is a great city for bridges, and three of the famous bridges cross the Seine River in the 6th arrondissement.

Bridges are some of the famous attractions to see on your Paris trips, and the original Pont des Arts, built between1802 – 1804, was the first metal bridge in Paris, but over time sustained a lot of damage from two aerial bombardments and multiple collisions caused by boats and was rebuilt in 1984.

Pont des Art is frequently a spot for picnics and one of the fun things to see in Paris during the summer.

It is often used as a studio for artists and photographers who are drawn to its unique point of view between the Institute of France on the Left Bank (Rive Gauche) and the Louvre on the Right Bank (Rive Droite).

The bridge has been featured in numerous films and television shows and it's no wonder it is one of the Paris attractions.

The stunning Pont Neuf (which means New Bridge) is actually the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris.

Pont Neuf is centrally located near the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Conciergerie, La Samaritaine department store and many other sites on the island Île de la Cité, the Left Bank and Right Bank of the Seine River, and of couse many delightful Paris restaurants and attractions to visit on your Paris travel.

Standing by the western point of the Île de la Cité (the island in the middle of the river and previous the heart of medieval Paris), Pont Neuf connects the Left Bank of Paris with the Right Bank.

Other Paris attractions are Pont Saint-Michel, a stone bridge which links the Place Saint-Michel on the Left Bank of the River Seine to the Île de la Cité.

Named after the nearby chapel of Saint-Michel, it is located near Sainte Chapelle and the Palais de Justice which is beside the Concergerie.

First constructed in 1378, the present 62-metre-long Pont Saint-Michel bridge has been rebuilt several times, most recently in 1857.

At the point where the bridge crosses the Île de la Cité, there stands a bronze equestrian statue of King Henry IV of France.
